Participants showcasing various products at the ongoing exhibition in Kayonza District say they are optimistic about gaining new customers and expanding their markets.
The exhibition began on June 10, 2026, and has attracted over 120 exhibitors from different districts. They include those in agriculture, livestock, handicrafts, technology as well as financial institutions.
Grace Uwambaye, who grows bananas and potatoes in Mitungo Village, Rukara Cell, Rukara Sector, said: “We brought our banana and potato produce. Many people don’t know that we have quality potatoes in Rukara. This exhibition is an opportunity to gain visibility and find buyers who can come to our farms.”
Françoise Niyonshuti, who cultivates Cayenne pepper and Pili Pili in Rwinkwavu Sector, said: “Our pepper has a unique flavor. We are looking for stable markets, especially hotels and restaurants. Once people taste it, they immediately love it. This is the perfect place to showcase it to them.”
Patrick Uwitonze, who produces organic fertilizer in Ruramira Sector, said he came to show farmers the benefits of his fertilizer. He stated: “Our fertilizer increases yield and protects the soil. Many farmers need to know about it. We are confident that we will find many partners here.”
The Acting Mayor of Kayonza District, Fred Hategekimana, said: “This exhibition is a great opportunity to connect buyers and sellers. We encourage our residents and neighbors to come and see the quality products made locally. The goal is to boost citizens’ income and promote Made in Rwanda products.”
District authorities say the partners’ exhibition will last for three days, concluding on Friday, June 12, 2026. Visitors say it is a great opportunity to access various products and discover new innovations.
