Lague Byiringiro says the BK Pro League is no longer at his level after being arrested three times!!!

Rwandan international winger Lague Byiringiro has revealed that he has been arrested three times for drunk driving and says he no longer wants to play for any club in Rwanda because the local league does not match the level he wants for his career.

Lague made the remarks on Sunday during the Sunday Choice Live program at Isibo TV. The player, who was recently suspended indefinitely by Police FC over disciplinary issues linked to missing training sessions, insisted that he was unfairly punished because he had informed the club that he was sick.

“They suspended me indefinitely and gave me a letter claiming that I had skipped training sessions while I was sick. I had already submitted a medical report to the team doctors and informed the club officials about my condition. I even went to the hospital for treatment and showed them everything, so I don’t understand why they decided to suspend me,” he explained.

The Amavubi star also opened up about his repeated troubles with traffic police due to driving under the influence of alcohol. According to him, he has been arrested three times for the offense.

“Traffic police have really troubled me. I have been arrested three times for drunk driving. Two of those incidents happened this year, and another occurred when I came to Rwanda for holiday while I was still living in Sweden. Driving after drinking is wrong, but sometimes you convince yourself to continue driving anyway,” he said.

Lague further disclosed that he recently spent six days in detention after being arrested in Ruyenzi while returning home.

“Recently, I spent six days in detention. I was held in Ruyenzi, which is where I was arrested on my way home,” he added.

The winger also confirmed that he does not expect to play again before the end of the current season and ruled out the possibility of joining another Rwandan club next season.

“This season will end without me playing again. I know nothing about those rumors. I will not play for Rayon Sports. I do not want to play for any club in Rwanda next season. The Rwandan league is not at the level I want to compete in. Considering the ambitions, I have for my career, I personally believe the league is below the level I want,” Lague stated.
